Got Through....

I finally got through to the call screeners at Hope For Haiti Now. Didn't get to speak with a celebrity, but it didn't matter. I gave, that's what matters most. My heart and my prayers go out to the Haitians for the devastation they are going through. May God be with them and watch over them during this difficult time.

Hope For Haiti Now Telethon

The "Hope For Haiti Now" telethon is tonight at 8PM EST/7PM CT. Hope you watch and can make a donation. After donating, FB or tweet who you spoke with. Many celebs will be answering the phones tonight in LA and it will be cool to see who we all get a chance to talk to.

Do One Nice Thing

Listening to the Gayle King show this morning, I heard about a lady named Debbie Tenzer, who has devoted her Monday's to Do One Nice Thing for someone. Debbie has also created a website, www.doonenicething.com which gives ideas on things you can do for people and be involved in the "nice" movement. On Debbie's website, there is a video called "Confessions of a Nice-o-Holic" and for every viewing of the video, money will be donated to the Feeding America Organization.

TOMS Shoes

My friend Stephanie told me about a commercial she saw from AT&T about a guy who gives away 1 pair of shoes for every pair he sells. I thought it was such a great concept I wanted to share the commercial with you.

Support the founder of TOMS Shoes, Blake Mycoskie, by making a purchase through his website:

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Most of you probably know but in case you didn't, October is is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Wikipedia: Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) (also referred to locally as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM)) is an annual international health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities every October to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention and cure. The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer.

As well as providing a platform for breast cancer charities to raise awareness of their work and of the disease, BCAM is also a prime opportunity to remind women to be breast aware for earlier detection.
Last year, Laura, Tim and I participated in the 2007 Susan G. Komen's "Race For The Cure" walk. The picture above was taken at that event. One of the main reasons for our participation was due to the recent knowledge that one of my dearest friends, Lori, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Until then, I didn't know anyone that had been affected with Breast Cancer. Now, I have come to know of few that have become Survivors of the disease.

The most important thing that I've learned is early detection and self examination. Self examination leads to early detection which, in most cases lead to Breast Cancer Survivors.

Attached is Lori's Donation Website in which she will be raising $1,000.00 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Please visit her website and make a donation today.
