This statement came from a Facebook post this afternoon and IS NOT MY THOUGHT AT ALL and that is why there is a question mark at the end. What the hell does that even mean? I get so sick of blanket comments like that with absolutely no elaboration of what the basis of the statement even means.
Let's break the statement down...
"Remember Memorial Day"... that's a given. We should all honor our fallen soldiers on Monday. How do we do that? Go to a parade, hang a flag in your yard, wear red-white & blue, have a cookout. Now I don't know what President Obama has planned on Monday, but I feel pretty confident that he will probably do one if not all of the things that make us as a nation patriotic. I think he'll even go a step further by visiting the Veteran's Memorial that day in DC. What will you be doing that day?
"Even if our leader doesn't".... WHAT? What does that even mean? What is the basis of that statement? Everyone knows I am an Obama supporter through and through, but even if this message was posted during Bush's term I would have the same reaction. Don't use Memorial Day to trash the current President and what he stands for. Obama, and even Bush for that matter, have more patriotism in their pinkie finger than I have in my whole body. They live and breath the United States of America and what it stands for and that's why they are where they are.
If you're going to make a statement like that, state your reasons for why you feel like that. In my opinion, there is nothing to support it! We must find a way to stop trashing a President that has been given so many obstacles. Why can't we support him in making this a better country instead of making statements like that, which only set us back!

Upset in Massachusetts
George W. Bush started out his 1st year running our country in to the ground and continued to do so for 8 years. So, why is it that everyone expects President Barack Obama to turn things around in his 1st year?As you can imagine, I was really saddened to see the late Edward Kennedy's Senate seat handed over to a Republican. A Democrat has held that seat in Massachusetts for close to 50 years and to see so much good come to an end is very upsetting. I agree, Martha Coakley's campaign was less than stellar. I think she thought the seat was hers, so why fight for it. However, Martha did not let Massachusetts down, the people of Massachusetts let down their own state. In the end they didn't stand for what they truly believed in. The people of Mass are mad and frustrated over Obama's 1st year in office, but honestly, look at what he has on his plate. It's unreal the number of obstacles this President is having to overcome. He was handed this turmoil on a silver platter, yet we blame Obama instead of Bush Jr.?
It makes no sense to me.

How cool is it to be excused from school by President Barack Obama? Kennedy Corpus knows because "she's with Barack".

Victory Speech from President Elect, Barack Obama
Change has finally come to America. I can't even express how overcome I am with emotion about being part of History. I was so proud of how eloquent and humble Barack was last night. It was so appropriate for him to acknowledge that even though we've come so far, it still was not time to celebrate quite yet. We still have work to be done. I only hope we continue to be energized in the political process so that Barack can bring about the change we all deserve. I drove in this morning with such respect to be an American, to live in a country where things like this are a possibility.

We Did It... Yes We Did....

I can't help but be emotional over this night. I'm been consumed with this election for some time now and listening to Barack speak tonight, I'm overwhelmed with enourmous emotion.
Congratulations Barack! You are now the new President of the United States of America and I hope I will only be one of many who will support you in your effort to make the Change We Need.
