Favorite Barack Videos

This is one of the newest Barack Obama campaign ads and is quite hilarious

I get so emotional when I watch this video. It makes you believe that anything is possible and with Barack, Change Is Possible. This video is a behind the scenes look at the DNC.

This video just shows how funny Barack is. It's nice to see a sense of humor.

Rolling Stone Article ~ Make Believe Maverick

I found the following excerpt taken from a story in the Rolling Stone Magazine, entitled "Make Believe Maverick", to be so true of how I feel about John McCain's qualification to be the President of the United States. - Even those in the military who celebrate McCain's patriotism and sacrifice question why his POW experience has been elevated as his top qualification to be commander in chief. "It took guts to go through that and to come out reasonably intact and able to pick up the pieces of your life and move on," says Wilkerson, Colin Powell's former chief of staff, who has known McCain since the 1980s. "It is unquestionably a demonstration of the character of the man. But I don't think that it is a special qualification for being president of the United States. In some respects, I'm not sure that's the kind of character I want sitting in the Oval Office. I'm not sure that much time in a prisoner-of-war status doesn't do something to you. Doesn't do something to you psychologically, doesn't do something to you that might make you a little more volatile, a little less apt to listen to reason, a little more inclined to be volcanic in your temperament."

Also noted in the same article ~ At least three of McCain's GOP colleagues have gone on record to say that they consider him temperamentally unsuited to be commander in chief. Smith, the former senator from New Hampshire, has said that McCain's "temper would place this country at risk in international affairs, and the world perhaps in danger. In my mind, it should disqualify him." Sen. Domenici of New Mexico has said he doesn't "want this guy anywhere near a trigger." And Sen. Thad Cochran of Mississippi weighed in that "the thought of his being president sends a cold chill down my spine. He is erratic. He is hotheaded."

Create a Palindrome...

Say it aint so Joe... there is a new website that's just surfaced in honor of Sarah Palin, http://pa.lindro.me/. Their main page says it all "The GOP tells her what to say, now you can too!". They have come up with all of Sarah Palin's speeches, and given you the power to make her say whatever your heart desires.

Boyfriend of girl stuck to toilet seat, wins lottery.

Do you remember the girl that was stuck to the toilet seat for over a year? She lived with her boyfriend who said she was afraid to leave her house. Well, the boyfriend just won $20,000.00 in the Kansas State Lottery. Actually it's his second time winning the lottery this year. Seems like his luck must be turning around but I just wonder how the girlfriend is doing?

Splitsville

When a photographer tries to get an invitation to the Playboy Mansion's Halloween party, Holly Madison drops a bomb. "I have no pull anymore, Hef and I aren't together. I can't invite people,"

I really hate this!!! I absolutely love the show, but I guess this will end up being their last season.

The video says it all.

"Keating Economics: John McCain the Making of a Financial Crisis" is a documentary that shows why John McCain's failed philosophy and poor judgment are a recipe for deepening the economic crisis.

What matters most.......

I watched a youtube video today from a Steel Workers of America employee. He is an avid Obama supporter who took the courage to stand up among a large crowd and talk about how disgraceful it is to consider not voting for Barack Obama because of the color of his skin.

What Americans need to understand is at the end of the day what matters most is the character of the man running for the highest office, the Presidency of the United States of America. It should not matter what the color of his skin may be, but what values he holds within his soul. I can't think of a better person than Barack Obama. He is who I think can hand over our nation to our children and our children's children knowing he did everything in his power to make this county a better place.

I'm very fortunate. As a child, my parents taught me, as well as my brother, about equality. I can say, that as a citizen of this great nation, I don't care what color Barack may appear on the outside (might I mention his mother is white and his father is black), but what matters most is what he believes inside, what his goals are and what he stands for. I can not think of anyone more sincere than Barack to bring the change we so desperately need.

We only have 31 more days until the General Election. I hope that you will get out there and vote. Look at the issues, look at the track records of both Obama and McCain, make an informed decision on who you feel is best suited for the position and VOTE! Your vote does count more now than ever before.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Most of you probably know but in case you didn't, October is is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Wikipedia: Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) (also referred to locally as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM)) is an annual international health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities every October to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention and cure. The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer.

As well as providing a platform for breast cancer charities to raise awareness of their work and of the disease, BCAM is also a prime opportunity to remind women to be breast aware for earlier detection.
Last year, Laura, Tim and I participated in the 2007 Susan G. Komen's "Race For The Cure" walk. The picture above was taken at that event. One of the main reasons for our participation was due to the recent knowledge that one of my dearest friends, Lori, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Until then, I didn't know anyone that had been affected with Breast Cancer. Now, I have come to know of few that have become Survivors of the disease.

The most important thing that I've learned is early detection and self examination. Self examination leads to early detection which, in most cases lead to Breast Cancer Survivors.

Attached is Lori's Donation Website in which she will be raising $1,000.00 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Please visit her website and make a donation today.

Giving credit where credit is due.

I'm still not voting for the McCain-Palin ticket. However, I was pleasantly surprised by Sarah Palin last night. I thought she did a really decent job. I was sitting on the edge of my seat the whole night, just waiting for her to really fall on her face, but that didn't seem to happen.

Saying that, I feel Biden still won the debate. I thought he stayed on point with the questions that were asked of him, he was very knowledgeable and surprisingly very respectful of Sarah Palin. He could have gotten down and dirty with her on some of the issues, but I liked that fact that he remained a gentleman. I just about lost it when he started to choke up about not knowing if his children were going to make it - referring to the accident his 1st wife had when she and his daughter were killed, leaving his two sons to take care of.

What did you think of the debate?

Why can't she just answer one question out right?

Keep in mind, if McCain were to win the presidency (God forbid), Sarah Palin is one heartbeat away from becoming our President. Is this who you want running our country?

Sarah Palin can't name one Supreme Court Decision?

Sarah Palin can't name one newspaper she reads?

Compare Biden's interview with Katie Couric, to that of Sarah Palin.

Tonight is definitely going to be must see TV with the Vice Presidential Debate. I'm interested to see what comes out of her mouth. By the way, the debate is on this evening - 9PM Eastern, 8PM Central.

Bush's Approval Rating Drops To A New Low.

From AOL News: PRINCETON, N.J. (Sept. 30) - According to a Sept. 26-27 USA Today/Gallup poll, just 27% of Americans approve of the job George W. Bush is doing as president, the lowest rating of his presidency.

How would you rate President George W. Bush?

Party, Party, Party.....

My daughter's life has become one big PARTY. Every weekend we seem to have a Birthday Party to attend and some weekends there are two. This is an example of what my refrigerator looks like at any given time with party invitations. By the way, since this picture was taken, we have two more up there ~ a Gymnastics Party as well as a Pump It Up Party, not to mention Laura's own Birthday Party on October 25th.
