Congratulations

I think Congratulations are in order for Frank Milford - 101 and his wife, Anita - 100, who celebrated their 81st Wedding Anniversary earlier this week, May 26th. What's their secret? They keep a "happy outlook" with very little arguing. Congratulations Frank & Anita!

Found At Disney World

WTF? I can not believe this mother staged her own disappearance and that of her daughter in order to take a trip to Disney World. Bonnie Sweeten and her daughter, Julia Rakoczy, were found at a hotel in Florida yesterday afternoon. Thankfully they were both found alive and well. However, I can't believe her actions. First of all, who calls the police to say they have been abducted when they haven't? We have enough people missing in the world that need the manpower of the police department to find them. We don't need false claims that you've been abducted, plus has she ever heard of Karma? I wouldn't put anything like that out in the world with fears that something like that could happen. I'm also really tired of white women and men claiming that a black man did the crime. What do 2 black men want with a white mother and child. How rare is that occurrence? Didn't you know, it's normally white men who are the ones to abduct someone?

I'm curious to see what kind of time she gets for this. These kind of occurrences need to be stopped and until someone really gets the book thrown at them, it's unfortunately going to continue.

Father's Day

I need ideas on what to get for Father's Day. I have such a hard time with the men in my life when it comes to buying gifts. Any suggestions?

Flat Out Wrong

I'm really upset at the filmmakers of "Slumdog Millionaire" for not stepping up and helping the 2 children who were in the film, Rubina Ali and Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail (pictured above). Rubina & Azharuddin's homes, if you can even call them that, were demolished a few weeks ago. Attached is an article I read about what the filmmakers are doing to help. In my opinion, they're not doing enough! I know that any help should be thought of as gracious, but when a film makes $326 million and you give the families of the children a mere $100 thousand, something is flat out wrong with that.

I watched the following excerpt and wonder, are Jon & Kate's children being exploited? I see this family in a whole new light now and it makes me sad to see the path they are taking. I really think they need to let the show go and focus on their marriage and family.

Laura's Dance Recital

Laura had her dance recital this past weekend and she was so pretty. I was so proud to see how much she's learned. This is her 3rd year of dance, and I hope she'll want to continue on next year. But if not, that's OK too. We'll find some kind of extracurricular activity to do. Great Job Laura!

Jon has checked out...

Jon & Kate's episode last night was gut wrenching. I hated to see how much they have changed since Season 4 wrapped up. I got the feeling that Jon has truly checked out of the marriage. I felt so sad for Kate, you can really see the pain she feels. I hope they can make it work, but last night did not paint a pretty picture. I was very surprised to see them doing interviews separately.

Do One Nice Thing

Listening to the Gayle King show this morning, I heard about a lady named Debbie Tenzer, who has devoted her Monday's to Do One Nice Thing for someone. Debbie has also created a website, www.doonenicething.com which gives ideas on things you can do for people and be involved in the "nice" movement. On Debbie's website, there is a video called "Confessions of a Nice-o-Holic" and for every viewing of the video, money will be donated to the Feeding America Organization.

The Search For Madeleine

This story has haunted me since May of 2007 when I heard about the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. It seems as if they have a lead in the case. They are looking at Raymond Hewlett, a British pedophile, as a suspect in the disappearance. He is currently in Germany being treated for throat cancer. My only concern now is that if he's in a hospital, where is Madeleine? I have really kept up the hope that she would be found alive, but when I heard there was a suspect and he's in the hospital, it raises the question, where could she be. Very sad!

I loved it when Kara came out on stage Wednesday on American Idol and blew bikini girl, Katrina Darrell, off the stage. She was fabulous!

New Credit Card Laws

One thing the article doesn't mention is how much one person can have in available credit. I think that's the real issue with Americans today. We build up so much credit card debt, because credit card companies don't have a good program in place to stop you from getting more credit. There needs to be something in the law about that. Maybe I'll send a letter to President Obama with my opinion?

Way to go Kris! I can't say I wasn't shocked when Adam didn't win, but I'm so glad Kris did. Out of the two of them, Kris is a more current singer. Adam's voice reminds me of an 80's hair band and we've already done that. Congrats Kris! You deserve the win!

My heart aches for Kate. I see she's having a difficult time dealing with the tabloid rumors. Whether they are true or not, you can tell they have taken a toll on her.

Promoting her book, 8 Little Faces, I expected her to be bubbly, but as you will see, that's not the case.
