Question

Does anyone watch Criminal Minds?

I LOVE IT!!!

I've wanted to be a criminal pro filler and this show sparks my interest. Anyone who knows me, knows how interested I am in the psychology in Serial Killers and what drives them. This show is right up my alley.

What are your thoughts on the show?

Who watched the Barack Obama interview with Barbara Walters?

I did and I must say it was fabulous!!!

Did anyone else watch it? What did you think?

Ozzy Osbourne

I just love this guy. I swear, he cracks me up!

On ABC Tonight

Barbara Walters lands an interview with The Obama's. It will be on ABC and guess who will be watching? That would be ME!

Silly Song

I don't know if anyone ever listened to Yo On E? They are no longer on XM anymore, but they used to play this stupid song every day before naming all of the celebrities who had birthdays for that day. It just popped into my head, so I thought I'd share the silly song with you.

Britney Spears ~ life worse than jail sentence?

I really like Britney Spears and I hope that she gets back on track....

However, I have a really hard time thinking that her life, as she describes it in her new documentary on MTV, is worse than a jail sentence. It's also hard for me to be sorry for her when she caused a lot of the ruckus herself. I agree, there were people in her life that should not have been, but she's a grown woman, old enough to know better. Her actions were off the wall this time last year. I'm curious to see how she composes herself after her father is not in charge of her affairs anymore.

This is just so sad....

Jonestown 30 Years Later

How does this happen? How is it that one person can get thousands of followers to put all of their trust in him? It's been 30 years since the Jonestown Masacre and I still question, how could this have happened?

View of the movie, "Nights in Roadanthe"

After reading Nights in Roadanthe by Nicholas Sparks, I was so looking forward to the movie with Richard Gere and Diane Lane. Much to my dismay, I didn't really care for the film.

Have you read the book? Have you seen the movie? What was your take on the movie?

Thanks Monica!

Thanks for your comment Monica!

By the way, this was Monica's latest response. I do actually respect the opinions of fellow blogger's and will take her critisism to heart.

"Shelley...it's rude. Not just rude to me...but rude period. You did it once when you first commented over a month ago on my blog and I said the same thing then. I'm sorry...but it's rude and it is a particular pet peeve of mine. Put your information in the URL section and folks will click on your name and be able to get to your site.

It's very simple.

I'm sorry if your feelings were hurt but hey...you got the same response EVERYONE who has ever done that on my site received AND...you've received the response TWICE. I'm equal opportunity."

In my own defense, I normally don't look to see if I've got a response to a comment I've left, so the 1st time I commented on her blog I never knew I got a response from it. Now that I know better, I'll do better.

Speaking of High Horse.....

Well, I guess Monica didn't like my response (see post below regarding Blog Etiquette), and this is what she had to say this time:

"@Shelley: I don't need you to promote my site. LET ME REPEAT...I DON'T NEED YOU TO PROMOTE MY SITE. It is well known THROUGHOUT blogland that this is some rude shit to do and whenever it's done on THIS site...the culprit is called out. Why? Because I can. You put your URL in the section that says URL and if folks click on your name then they will go to your site. Simple. Why in the WORLD would you think it's cool if you had to type it out twice and as far as you having your lil funky azz come to Jesus over here...child please...go sit your azz down somewhere hell. Everyone here knows who I am and your new blueness ain't changing that. Come back if you want to...don't if you don't. Simple. Monica Mingo(Folks think too highly of themselves bruh...really...)"

WHAT? Can someone tell me what the hell she's talking about?

I am truly surprised at how something so simple can jolt someone into a response like that.

Blog Etiquette

As being a relatively new blogger (only a few months), can someone tell me the proper etiquette for leaving comments on someone else's blog? I recently left a comment on a fellow blogger's blog and in the comment, I placed my own blog address so that others could view my blog.

Well, this is the response I got. "***EDITED BY SIP WHOSE PET PEEVE IS STILL PEOPLE WE DON'T KNOW ADVERTISING THEIR DAMN SITE IN A COMMENT BEING ALL RUDE AND ISH." Is what I did considered rude? I'm really curious to find out, because I did not think that it was. If so, then so be it, I'll have to conform to proper Blog Etiquette from now on.

Anyway, this was my response, and also, I'm curious to know if this was out of line. "Hmm, I had no idea stating your own blog address in a comment was a bad thing. Isn't that how we all connect with people? It was not my intent to be rude in any way but it is a good way to get me to not promote your blog going forward. I really enjoyed reading to see what you had to say, and it was by word of mouth that I even found out about your site. I'm really surprised by your response. But as Maya Angelou says, "When someone shows you who you truly are, believe them the first time"."

So, needless to say, I won't be visiting her site again and further more, I definitely wont be promoting her blog in the future. As far as I'm concerned, anyone who wants to promote their own blog on my blog, GO FOR IT!!! Get the word out there, let people know what you have to say. I'm not in any way threatened by it. Just like I said in my response to my fellow blogger, isn't that the way we all connect with each other? Isn't that the beauty of blogging?

Victory Speech from President Elect, Barack Obama

Change has finally come to America. I can't even express how overcome I am with emotion about being part of History. I was so proud of how eloquent and humble Barack was last night. It was so appropriate for him to acknowledge that even though we've come so far, it still was not time to celebrate quite yet. We still have work to be done. I only hope we continue to be energized in the political process so that Barack can bring about the change we all deserve. I drove in this morning with such respect to be an American, to live in a country where things like this are a possibility.

We Did It... Yes We Did....

I can't help but be emotional over this night. I'm been consumed with this election for some time now and listening to Barack speak tonight, I'm overwhelmed with enourmous emotion.

Congratulations Barack! You are now the new President of the United States of America and I hope I will only be one of many who will support you in your effort to make the Change We Need.

Halloween

This is the first year that Laura has really gotten in to Trick-Or-Treating. She had such a good time and surprisingly she did not get too scared when we came upon a freaky house.

How was your Halloween? What did you or your children go as this year?

Here's my little goblin.
