About Me

First and foremost I am happily married to the most wonderful man in the world, Tim. Tim and I were set up on a blind date 21 years ago and have been by each others side ever since. We will be celebrating our 20 Year Anniversary on September 9th. Like all marriages, we've had our ups and downs but in the end we're both there for each other and enjoy being with one another. Tim is such a considerate human being, always thinking of how to bring happiness to my life as well as Laura's. He's so smart and has more determination and ambition than anyone I know.

Tim and I have a teenage daughter, Laura.  She is the utmost apple of our eye. Laura is such a smart young lady who enjoys reading, writing short stories, theater, art & music. She is highly involved in her high school in programs such as the Theater Department, she is a Best Buddy Mentor, she is recognized as a National Honor Society Member as well as a National English Honor Society Member.   Her goal is to go to college at the University of Texas @ Austin for Interior Design. Laura recently became a Lifeguard and her Dad and I are excited to see her grow this summer as she starts her first job.

Laura is such a beautiful child with such a sweet soul. There are times she can act like a total DIVA, but her heart is so big! Of course I'm biased but I do think she is such a pretty girl inside and out and she continues to get even more beautiful as she gets older.

Now let's talk about me....

I am an Accountant for a small Real Estate Firm in Houston, TX (I know, boring huh?). I have been in the accounting industry for 29 years. Is it what I love? Not at all but it's what I'm good at.

One day when I grow up I think there a few other choices I would make as far as careers. I have other passions that would fit my personality much more but sometimes you get in a simple routine and don't know exactly how to break away from it. I love photography! I think if I could have one fluff job, it would be as a professional photographer. I really enjoy capturing shots of life in motion. I also really like to write. As a teenager I remember being so wrapped up in journaling. However, if you asked me where those journals are today, I could not even tell you. I think that's why I started this blog several years ago. Even though I don't write every day, when I do I can say it's truly enjoyable. As a child there were 3 things I thought I'd be when I grew up; a nurse, a lawyer or a teacher. Out of those 3 I think the only one I'd be interested in now is becoming a nurse.

The one thing I enjoy most is spending time with my family. I am most content when I can come home at the end of the day or workweek and just hang out around the house with my family! I enjoy reading. Actually, this is a new passion of mine, but I truly love it. I don't have an artistic bone in my body... wish I did, but I find art such a lovely gift. Unfortunately the best I can muster are stick figures.:-) I also love to travel. Sharing those experiences with Tim and Laura are so important and I look forward to each one.

Tim and I both grew up in North Carolina but were blessed to move to the Big State of TEXAS! Even though there is so much I still love about NC, TX is where I'm supposed to be. I fell in love with TX the minute I came with Tim looking for our home. Tim was transferred here with his company 15 years ago and now I can't imagine being anywhere else. Laura was just a year and 1/2 old when we moved, so she considers herself a native Texan. We also moved our two dogs, Gus and Bailey along with our cat Moe. Unfortunately, Gus, Bailey & Moe passed away soon after we moved here (all from different things). We loved them so much and still miss them to this day. We waited a few years after losing G&B to get another dog, but that didn't last long.  We ended up getting another one for 7th Laura's Birthday. We were blessed with a rambunctious Weimaraner, whom Laura named Lilly! She is such a sweet pup, but is so big and has such ADD that she can be quite much at times. We love her nonetheless.

Well, that's a snapshot into my life.

I hope you enjoy BTWOV! Feel free to leave topic suggestions, comments, questions and concerns through my Contact Me page. I welcome a good conversation. Enjoy!
